CHAPTER 107.

An act to allow Israel Norris, late collector of State taxes
in Carroll county , further time to complete his collec-
tions.

CHAP. 108.

Feb. 11, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Israel Norris, former collector of the
State taxes in Carroll county, be and he is hereby
authorised to collect all taxes or balances of taxes due
to him and now remaining unpaid, for the year in which
he was collector as aforesaid in said county, in the same
manner, and with the same privileges and powers he
could or might have done within the time limited by
law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Israel Nor-
ris, before he proceeds to collect under and by virtue of
this act, shall make out and deliver to the person or per-
sons from whom any taxes or balances may be demand-
ed, an account of the taxes or balances of taxes due from
such person or persons, and it the amount claimed be
disputed by the party, shall annex an affidavit that the
same is due and unpaid.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage, and continue in force until the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and fifty.

CHAPTER 108.

An act to authorise the administrators of David Ridgley,
deceased, and the guardians of Mi infant children, to
make certain improvements on his real estate under
the direction of the orphans court of Baltimore city
and county.

Feb. 2, 1848.

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assem-

bly, that David Ridgley, late of Baltimore city, deceas-
ed, left a large real estate situated in Baltimore county,
which descended to his three infant children; and

whereas, it is also represented, the barn and dwell-
ing house on said land have been both burned since the
death of the said D. Ridgley, and the said real estate
rendered thereby of less value — Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Louisa Ridgley and John Glenn, administrators
