An act entitled, an act to allow John Robert Baden, for-
mer Sheriff of Prince George's County, further tine
to complete his collections.

Authorise
to collect.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John R. Baden, former sheriff of Prince
George's county, by himself or any person or persons
by him appointed for this purpose, is and are hereby
authorised and empowered to collect the sums and bal-
ances' due him as sheriff of Prince George's county,
which accrued and were due prior to the first of Jan-
uary, eighteen hundred and forty-three, in the same
manner which the said John R. Baden could or might
have done within the time limited by law.

fidavit to ac-
count.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That it shall be the July
of the said John R. Baden, before he proceeds to ex-
ecute or distrain the property of any person or persons
for public dues, or officers fees, by virtue of this act, to
deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the
same, at least thirty days previous to levying such ex-
ecution or distress, an account, written in words at full
length, of the public, dues for officers fees demanded of
him, her or them, and that he, or either of his legally
authorised deputies lor the years eighteen hundred and
forty-one and forty-two, shall annex an affidavit to such
account, that he hath not received any part thereof, nor
anything in security or satisfaction for the same, other
than the credits given, to the best of his knowledge and

belief; provided, that nothing in this act contained shall
be so construed to affect the estate of a deceased person,
except to authorise the said John R. Baden, or his depu-
ties, to recover any claim on balance due by a deceased-
person, in the same manner that claims against deceased
persons are now recovered by law.

In force.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force for twelve months from the date of its passage,
and no longer.
