CHAP. 84.

and empowered to collect any and all taxes or balances of
taxes now remaining due and uncollected by him in the
county aforesaid, in the same manner and with the same
privileges and powers he could or might nave done
within the time limited by law.

Affidavit to be
annexed to ac-
count.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said William A.
Quynn, shall in every instance, before he proceeds to col-
lect any taxes or balances of taxes under and by virtue
of this act, make affidavit before some justice of
the peace in said county, that the same remains unpaid,
and that he hath not received any security or satisfac-
tion for the same, or any part thereof, other than the cre-
dits that may be allowed thereon.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
continue in force longer than one year from the date of
the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 84.

Feb. 17, 1848.

Time extend-
ed to collect.

An act to allow William Rose, former collector of Talbot
county further time to complete his collections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the time allowed by law to William
Rose, collector for Talbot county, for the years eighteen
hundred and forty and eighteen hundred and forty-one,
to complete his collections, be and is hereby extended
until the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
forty-nine.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid col-
lector named in the first section of this act, shall in eve-
ry instance before he shall proceed to the collection of
the tax, make affidavit before some justice of the peace

same, or any part thereof, more than what credits may
