Resolution in favor of William A. Ford.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the orphans court of Caroline county be and they are
hereby authorised to pay, out of the school funds of said
county to William A. Ford, any sum they may deem
sufficient for services rendered by him, the said Ford,
in distributing the above named funds among the several
schools in Caroline, county.

Resolutions in favor of Benjamin Hopkins and Philip
Clayton.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the State be and he is hereby direct-
ed to pay to Benjamin Hopkins, of the city of Annapo-
lis, the sum of twenty-one dollars and fifty cents for ex-
tra services rendered by him in attending to the regula-
tion of the heat of the Hall.
And be it further resolved, That the sum of ten dol-
lars be paid by the Treasurer of the State to Philip
Clayton, for extra services in attending to the Rotunda
of the State House during the session of the present
General Assembly.

Resolutions tendering the thanks of the legislature to
Lieutenant Arnold Elzey, of the Second Regiment of
Artillery.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the thanks of the State of Maryland are due and are
hereby presented to Arnold Elzey, a native of Somer-
set county in this State, first lieutenant of the second
regiment of United States Artillery, serving in Brigadier
General Worth's division in Mexico, for his gallantry,
bravery and good conduct displayed in the battles at
