RESOLUTIONS.

by his private and domestic virtues, but feel that there is
consolation in knowing that as a Christian he could look
upon "the last of earth and be content."
And be it unanimously resolved, That the Governor
of this State be requested to transmit to Mrs. Adams
a copy of these resolutions.

Resolution relative to repairing and furnishing the Exe-
cutive Chamber.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer pay to the Governor the sum of six hun-
dred and twenty-five dollars, out of any money in the
treasury not otherwise appropriated, to defray the ex-
peases in furnishing and repairing the Council Chamber.

Resolutions in favor of the Visitors and Governors of
Washington College.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of Maryland be and he is hereby authoris-
ed ami directed to pay, out of any surplus monies which
may remain in the treasury after payment of the interest
upon the public debt and the ordinary expenses of go-
vernment, to the Visitors and Governors of Washington
College, Kent county, or to their order, the sum of fif-
teen hundred dollars annually, in addition to the sum
now payable to them; provided, that the same shall be
accepted in full satisfaction of all legal or equitable claim
which the said Visitors and Governors may have or be
supposed to have against the State.
Resolved, That in consideration of the above grant of
fifteen hundred dollars, to be paid annually to the said
Washington College, the Visitors and Governors of said
College shall board and instruct in said college one indi-
gent scholar from each of the counties of the Eastern
Shore of this State, in all the branches of learning taught
in said college, and shall furnish each of the said eight
scholars with all the necessary books and stationery.
