of them, are authorised and empowered as soon
may he convenient to cause the said bridge to be re-
built or repaired of sound and good materials and com-
pleted in the best and most substantial manner, and the
or a majority of them, are by this act authorised and
empowered to agree with a contractor or contractors for
rebuilding or repairing said bridge.

CHAP. 305.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners hereinbefore named shall be entitled to two
dollars per day for each day that they may be engaged
in contracting for and superintending the building
said bridge.

CHAPTER 304.

Compensation.

An act to confirm, an act entitled, an act to alter and
amend the Constitution and Form of Government of
the State of Maryland, so as to make the returns of
election for Governor to the Chancellor of this State,
and for other purposes.

Passed
March 9, 1848.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act entitled, an art to alter and amend the con-
stitution and form of government of the State of Mary-
land, so as to make the returns of election for Governor
to the Chancellor of this Stale, and for other purpose-
passed at December session eighteen hundred and forty
six, chapter three hundred and forty-two, be and the
same is hereby ratified and confirmed.

CHAPTER 305.

Confirmed.

An act entitled a supplement to the act of December
swum eighteen hundred and forty-six, chapter two
hundred and seventy-one.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That any mortgagee or other person to whom
any bill of sale is hereafter executed, may make the
affidavit as required by the original act to which this is
a supplement before any judge or justice of the peace
in this State at any time before the recording of said
mortgage or bill of sale, and if the mortgagees or per-
