PHILIP F. THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1847.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Hills-
borough school district so as above constituted and de-
scribed, shall be entitled to receive one school's share
of all the school funds in said middle district, and shall
be subject to the provisions and privileges of the law
passed December session eighteen hundred and forty-
six, chapter three hundred and fifty-three, after the
time of holding another election as provided for by said
act.

CHAP. 273.

Entitled to all
the rights and
immunities of
other schools.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That David Knolls, Wil-
liam Connolly, Doctor John H. Holt, Warner B. Bus-
teed, Barren Patten, Henry T. Dean and Doctor Thom-
as Hackett be and they are hereby appointed trustees
for the said Hillsborough school, to serve until an elec-
tion for other trustees shall be held in accordance with
the act of eighteen hundred and forty-six, chapter three
hundred and fifty-three.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the above named
trustees and their successors shall have a school con-
ducted in the town of Hillsborough for said Hillsborough
school district, and that they shall have authority to em-
ploy teachers, enact bye-laws and do all acts and pos-
sess all authority allowed to trustees of the other schools,
that are not primary schools in the middle election dis-
trict in Caroline county, and that the said Hillsborough
school shall be, up to the time of holding another elec-
tion as provided for by the act of eighteen hundred and
forty-six, subject to the same regulations and restrictions
as other schools that are not primary me in the middle
election district in Caroline county.

CHAPTER 273.

Duty of the

trustees.

An act to authorise the Commissioners of Talbot county
to levy a sum of money to aid in the purchase of a fire
engine and apparatus, for the protection of the property
of the county and of the citizens of Easton.

Passed
Mar. 10, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Talbot county be
and they are hereby authorised, empowered and required
to levy upon the assessable property of the county a sum
of money, in their discretion, not exceeding two hundred
dollars, to aid in the purchase of a fire engine and ne-
cessary apparatus for the protection of the property of
the county and the citizens of the town of Easton.
