CHAPTER 271.

An act entitled, an act relating to the Attorney General
and his Deputies.

Levy courts,
&c., in their
discretion, to
allow addition-
al compensa-
tion.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy courts and boards of commissioners in
the several counties in this State and in Howard dis-
trict, be and they are hereby severally authorised in
their discretion to allow and pay to the Attorney Gen-
eral and his deputies, such additional compensation for
the trial of criminal cases as the said levy courts or
boards of commissioners shall deem just and reasona-
ble.

CHAPTER 272.

An act to divide School District Number one, in the
Middle election district of Caroline county, and to
establish an additional school, to be called Hillsborough
school district.

divided.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That school district number one, of the mid-
dle election district of Caroline county, shall be so divided
as to constitute within the limits hereinafter defined an
additional school district, to be known as Hillsborough

new district.

school district, namely: beginning; at a point called the
Sleeper, where the county road which divides the upper
from the middle election district of said county inter-
sects the Tuckehoe creek, nnd running thence in a
southerly direction with said road until it joins the coun-
ty road leading from Hillsborough to Greensborough,
thence with said road towards Greensborough, until it
reaches the northeastern boundary of the land on which
the late John W. Williams lived, and thence running in
a southerly direction so as to include within its eastern
limits the aforesaid land of the late John W. Williams,
thence crossing the county road leading from Hills-
borough to Denton, striking the stream of a branch run-
ning with said stream until it reaches the land of William
F. Chilton, thence running so as to include the said Chil-
ton's land and the mill and mill property of Reverend
James Nicols, thence with said stream to Tuckehoe
creek, thence with said creek to the place of beginning.
