CHAPTER 26.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to authorise In-
corporations in certain cases, passed December session
eighteen hundred and forty-six, chapter three hun-
dred and twenty-three.

Made applica-
ble to associa-
tions for mili-
tary, purposes.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, all and
singular the provisions and restrictions of the act,
passed December session eighteen hundred and forty-
six, chapter three hundred and twenty-three, be and
the same are hereby made applicable to all associations
for military purposes.

CHAPTER 27.

An act entitled, an act to reduce the Levy Court of Cal-
vert, County to three, and to change the mode of election.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the levy court of Calvert county shall consist of three
members.

manner of e-
lecting.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the mode and man-
ner of electing the said members of the levy court of
Calvert county, shall be as follows: the voters of each
election district, who are now or may be at the time of
the election, qualified to vote for members of the House
of Delegates shall, on the first Wednesday in October
eighteen hundred and forty-nine, and at the same time
every two years thereafter, vote at their respective pla-
ces of voting, as already provided for by law, for such
person or persons, possessing the same qualifications at
candidates for the House of Delegates.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the judges of elec-
tion for each election, district in said county, or a majo-
rity of them, shall certify under their hands, and return
in form and manner similar to their certificates and return
of the election of delegates aforesaid, the number of
votes given in their respective districts for a member or
members of the levy court, as the case may require,
and the judges of the several election districts of said
county, when met at the court house of said county, to
ascertain and certify the election of delegates aforesaid,
