CHAP. 25.

An act entitled, an act to allow William Z. Beall, of
Prince George's county, to bring into this State, negro
woman Harriet, from the District of Columbia.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That William Z. Beall, of Prince George's county, be
and he is hereby authorised to bring into this State,
from the District of Columbia, negro woman named
Harriet, a slave for life; provided, the said William Z.
Beall, comply with the provisions of the act of Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter
fifteen, section first.

CHAPTER 25.

Bring slave
into this State.


Proviso.

An act for the relief of Henrietta Roberts and Henry
M. Robey, Administrators of Attison Roberts of
Charles County.

Jan. 21, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Henrietta Roberts and Henry M. Ro-
bey, administrators of Allison Roberts former collector of
direct taxes for Charles county, have until the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and forty-nine, to
collect the accounts or balances due the said Allison
Roberts, collector as aforesaid, at the time of his death
as freely as if the same had been done within the time
heretofore limited by law.

Empowered to
collect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Henrietta

Roberts and Henry M. Robey, administrators as afore-
said, before they shall proceed to execute the body or
property of any person or persons for direct tax as
aforesaid, shall deliver or cause to be delivered to the
person or persons chargeable with the same, or shall
leave or cause to be left at his, her or their house
or last place of abode, at least twenty days previous
to the serving or levying any execution upon the
body or property of said person or persons, an account
of the same due by him, her or them.

To render ac-
count.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Henrietta
Roberts and Henry M. Robey, administrators as afore-
said, are hereby fully authorized and empowered to
appoint one or more agents or deputies, tor the purpo-
se of carrying into effect the provisions of this act,
