An act to allow Benjamin Swingley, former Collector of
Taxes in Washington County, further time to com-
plte his collections.
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Benjamin Swingley, late Collector of
State and county taxes for the year eighteen, hundred
and forty-three, and county taxes for the year eighteen
hundred and forty-four, in Washington county, be and
he, or his agents or attornies are hereby authorised to
collect any and all taxes or balances of taxes due him
or them and now remaining uncollected for the several

In force.
|
years in which he was collector of the taxes in said
county, in the same manner and with the same privi-
eges and powers he could or might have done within
the time limited by law.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the authority here-
by given shall continue until the first day of June
eighteen hundred and forty-nine.

Abolished.

An act entitled, an act to abolish the Office of Cryer
to the Orphans Court, of Washington County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the office of
cryer to the orphans court of Washington county,
be and the same is hereby abolished.

An act for the relief of Leonard Sine, of Preston Coun-
ty, Virginia.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Allegany county are em-
powered and authorised to levy thirty dollars, on the
assessable property of said county, for the use of Leon-
ard Sine.
