1847.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, after having proceeded to levy a sum of money
for the building of said bridge, are hereby authorised and
required to let the building of such bridge out at con-
tract to the lowest bidder; provided, that the person or
persons to whom such contract may be given shall, be-
fore beginning the construction of said bridge give bond
and security, to be approved by the said commissioners
that the work upon said bridge shall be performed and
completed in a substantial and workmanlike manner.

CHAP. 144.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws inconsis-
tent with this act, be and the same are hereby repealed

CHAPTER 144.

Inconsistent
laws repealed.

An act to promote the more general diffusion of infor-
mation inspecting the proceedings of the commission-
ers of Worcester county in this State.

Passed
Feb. 29, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act passed at November session
eighteen hundred and two, chapter eighty-one, to make
public the proceedings of levy courts in the several
counties of this State, and for other purposes, be and
the same is hereby repealed, so far as relates to Worces-
ter county.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of Worcester county, be and they are hereby required
to cause a correct and fair copy of their levy list to be
made out, showing the amount of levy and the objects
for which the same was made, respectively, under gener-
al heads, and to cause the same to he published in a pub-
lic paper printed in said county for at least three suc-
cessive weeks previous to the first Wednesday of Oc-
tober next, and so in like manner in each and every year

thereafter; provided, that not more than seventy dollars
be allowed to any paper for such service; and provided,
that if at any time there should not be a paper in said
county, such publication of the receipts and disburse-
ments of said commissioners shall be made in conformi-
ty with the acts of eighteen hundred and two, chapter
eighty-one, which shall in that case be again in force,
so far as the same relates to Worcester county.
