1847.

whereas, the said Darius is now, and has been for twen-
ty-three years, actively engaged in the Naval service
of the United States, the last two and a half of which
he has served as stewart to the Naval School in the
city of Annapolis; and whereas, the said Darius has
always maintained a high character for subordination
and faithfulness in all the various situations in which he
has been placed — Therefore,

CHAP. 134.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Darius King, a free colored man, now in the ser-

vice of the United States States, be and hereby is
authorised to remove from the city of Philadelphia, to
the city of Annapolis in this State, his wife Phebe
King, and her four children, Martha, Darius, Mary and
Abbe, and the said Phebe King, and her four children,
Martha, Darius, Mary and Abbe, are hereby severally
authorised and permitted to continue and reside in the
city of Annapolis, and in no other part of the State,
so long as the said Darius shall continue in the ser-
vice of the United States as stewart to the Naval
School in the city of Annapolis, and no longer, any
laws or parts of laws to the contrary notwithstand-
ing.

CHAPTER 134.

Authorised to

into this State.

An act for the relief of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Frederick.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That all the right, title, interest and estate
of the State of Maryland, in and to the lands of Caro-
line Yager, late of Frederick county, deceased, which
have escheated to the State of Maryland, or to the
valuation of said land as returned by the surveyor of
Frederick county, be and is hereby released to the
Evangelical Church of Frederick.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Regis-
ter of the Lund Office, be and he is hereby authorised

and directed to issue a patent for the land so eschea-
ted, called Johnson's Discovery, being the east half of lot
number forty-seven, in Fredericktown, situate on
Patrick street on the south side, fronting on said street
thirty-one feet, six inches, and running back two
hundred and eighteen-feet ten inches to the Evangeli-
