said taxes in said original act mentioned, and that the
said agent or agents, when so appointed, shall have
power to collect the same by an action of debt, in the
name of said parties, before a single justice of the peace,
or the district court, as the case may be, or in any other
mode now provided by law, for the collection of State
taxes by collection.

An act for the relief of William Craig.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and alter the passage of this act, William
Craig, a citizen of the commonwealth of Virginia, upon
his application to the proper authority, and his compli-
ance with all the provisions of the laws of this State,
in relation to insolvent debtors, except making proof of his
residence in this State, shall be and he is hereby declared
to be entitled to the benefit of said insolvent laws, and
on the passage of this act, it shall be lawful for him to
prefer his petition for that purpose, and relief shall be
granted him as fully and in the same manner, as if he
were a citizen of the State of Maryland, any law to the
contrary notwithstanding.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John M. Buchanan, Alexander King,
Daniel Uhl, Henry Broatmarkle and Peter Baer, or a ma-
jority of them, be and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners to examine and lay out a new road from the
Pennsylvania line on the farm of John M. Buchanan,
thence down the valley of Will's creek to the Cumber-
land and Somerset turnpike road, at or near Jenning's
run toll gate.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if on examination by
