FISHERIES— A supplement to the act of 1845, ch.

148, making it lawful for proprietor or

lessee of any, on the Potomac, to per-

mit vessels employed by them in their,
to be anchored opposite their respective

shores, provided said vessels when so

anchored not to interfere with existing

rights of proprietors, &c. of adjoining

shores.

FOREIGN CORPORATIONS AND AGENCIES

— From and after 1st May, 1847, not

lawful for any person to act as agent for

any individual not incorporated by this

State, and authorised to make insuran-

ces, &c., or receive or transmit offers

for insurance to principals, receive or de-

liver policies, although such individuals

may be incorporated, &c., authorised

by the laws of any other State, without

license, &c.

License to be granted by the treasu-

rer to any person applying, on paying
$100 license to authorise, to effect in-

surance, receive, &c., policies, &c., for

12 months, &c.

Agent to pay half yearly to treasurer

three dollars per cent, upon amount of

premiums received, &c., and furnish on

oath to treasurer half yearly on first

Monday in January and July, a true list,

&c , of premiums and pay over to trea-

surer the said sum of $3, on every $100

of such premium; in all cases where a-

gent is a body politic, oath to be made

by the president, &c.

Agent to give bond to the State be-

fore acting, with surety to be approved

by Attorney General or deputy, &c., in

penalty of $5,000, to render true list,

&c., and pay said sum of $3,00, agent

to transmit bond to treasurer to be filed;

any aeent offending, &c., to forfeit $500

for every offence; notwithstanding such

forfeiture and payment, personally liable
