CHAP. 353.
Provided.

other school districts in said election district number two;
provided, that nothing herein contained shall be so con-
strued as to prevent the collection of the taxes levied
for the support of that school for the present year.

Orphans court
to supply va-
cancy.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That in case, of the death,
resignation or refusal to act of either of the said com-
missioners, then and in that case, the orphans court of
the said county are hereby empowered and directed to
appoint a person or persona residing in said election dis-
trict number two, to supply the vacancy.

Made oath.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners, before they proceed to act as such, shall take an
oath or affirmation, as the case may be, well and faith-
fully, without favor, affection or partiality, to execute the
duties assigned them by this act.

Commission-
ers to receive
$1 per day.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That each commissioner
shall be entitled to receive for every day which he may
be actually engaged in performing the duties required by
this act, one dollar pur day, to be paid out of the school
funds of said district, to their order by the orphans
court.

Enter upon the
duties before
June.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
aforesaid shall proceed to the discharge of the duties
imposed by this act, on or before the first Monday in
June next, and continue from day to day until they shall
complete the same.

Commission-
ers may leave
off, &c.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the commissioners,
if in their judgment shall deem it expedient and proper,
they are hereby authorised to leave off any portion of
said election district that may be more advantageously
attached to either of the adjacent election distiicts in said
county, and the trustees of any school in the adjacent
district may take said portion so left, and attach it to
their respective school districts.

convenient.

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That all persons residing
In a primary school district in said election district, shall
have the privilege of sending to any primary school
most convenient to them in said district, without paying
any additional tax.

Trustees to
fix districts.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That the trustees, or a
majority of them, shall have power and authority to fix
upon the place where the school house in their respective
districts shall stand, which shall always be in the most
central and convenient place, and also to provide in any
manner they may think best, to secure a house for said
purpose, which may be done by tax or contribution.
