1846.

said, be exercised by a president and five directors, to be
chosen by the stockholders, each stockholder to have one
vote at all elections for every share of stock held by him
or her, on a day to be fixed, and on notice given by the
persons named in this act, or a majority of them, which
president and directors shall serve for one year from their
said election, or until others shall be chosen, the president
anil directors of the corporation being hereby empowered
to pass by-laws fixing the period of election, and to make
all regulations in regard to them, and for any omission to
elect at the period appointed, and no omission of that kind
to operate as a dissolution of said corporation.

CHAP. 326.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That said president and
directors or a majority of them, may do all acts necessary
for the conducting the business, and carrying out the
objects of the corporation, and may appoint and employ
any agents or other person by them deemed necessary
for accomplishing said objects; may declare annual or
semi-annual dividends of profits as ascertained by them ;
may pass all by-laws and regulations aforesaid; may fix
and regulate the time or times, and manner and terms,
and conditions of receiving further subscriptions within
the limits aforesaid to the capital stock, and of all transfers
of stock; and also the manner of receiving votes at, and
of conducting any election for president and directors.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue
in force until the year one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five, but the Legislature hereby reserves the
right to alter or annul this act at pleasure.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained, shall be so construed as to authorise this company
to issue any note, token, scrip, device or other evidence
of debt to be used aa currency.

CHAPTER 326.

In force until

the year 1875.

Issues forbid.

An act to change the place of holding the Polls in the First
Election District of Anne Arundel County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the place of holding the polls in the first election
district of Anne Arundel county shall, after the passage
of this act, be at or near the store of Jacob W. Bird,
any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
