1846.

meaning of this act, such person or persons so offending,
shall forfeit and pay twenty dollars for each and every
offence, to be recovered in the name of the State, before
any justice of the peace in Cecil county, one-half to the
informer, and the other half to the use of the State; pro-
vided, nothing herein contained shall be construed to
prevent any person or persons from counting their own
lumber and putting the number of feet thereon.

CHAP. 304.


SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That no inspector or his
deputy shall be allowed to purchase and sell or act as
agent to purchase and sell any lumber or shingles, directly
or indirectly, for himself or any other person or persons
except for his own private use and immediate consump-
tion, any inspector or deputy inspector so offending, shall
forfeit and pay for each and every offence twenty dollars,
to be recovered in the name of the State, before any
justice of the peace for said county, one-half to the infor-
mer, and the other half to the State.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all acts relative to the
inspection of lumber and shingles at Port Deposit, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this act be, and
the same is hereby repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect on and after the fifteenth day of April next.

CHAPTER 303.

Take effect on
the 15th April.

An act to divorce Harriet Wolfe, of the city of Baltimore,
from her husband Thomas Jefferson Wolfe.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Harriet Woife be, and she is hereby divorced from
her husband Thomas Jefferson Wolfe a vinculo ma-
trimonii.

CHAPTER 304.

An act to authorise Martha Torbert and the Stewards
of Cecil Circuit, in Cecil County, to make a deed of a
Parsonage House, situated in Elkton, to the Trustees of
Elkton Church.

Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
