CHAP. 241.

fits arising from the said company's business, at such
time and in such manner as they or a majority of them

Proviso.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the person named in
the first section of this act, with any others he may asso-
ciate with him for the purpose, shall be, and are hereby
authorised to receive subscriptions for the capital stock
of said company, or for so much thereof as may be deem-
ed sufficient for carrying on said company's business;
provided however, that ten dollars, upon each share of
stock so subscribed, be paid at time of subscribing,
which sums so leceived, are to be placed in the hands of
the aforesaid trustee or trustees, so soon as they be ap-
pointed, and the balance that may be due on said shares,
shall be paid at such times and in such manner a.s the
said president and directors, or a majority of them may

require, after giving at least thirty days notice of such
demand in writing, or by advertisement, in one or more
of the daily newspapers published in the city of Balti-
more, and in case any stockholder shall refuse or neglect
to pay any such instalment after due notice as aforesaid,
for the space of ninety days after the time limited for the
payment of the same, his or her stock, or so much there-
of as he or she may not have paid the required instal-
ment upon, shall be, and the same is hereby forfeited for
the use of the company.

vileges forbid.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
shall be taken or construed to allow the said company
or the president and directors thereof, any banking privi-
leges whatsoever.

Take effect.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the passage thereof.

In force 30
years.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That this act shall Con-
tinue in force for thirty years from the passage thereof.

Right reser-
ved.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the General Assem-
bly hereby reserve the right to annul, repeal, alter or
amend this act at pleasure.
