power to appoint such other officers as they may deem
expedient, and in such manner and at such time as they
may think proper.

CHAP. 224.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said society shall
have power to form a constitution and pass by-laws, to
fix the amount in money, which each person shall pay
on being admitted a member of said society; to fix the
amount of monthly, quarterly and yearly contributions,
which each member of the said society shall pay, and the
fines which members shall pay for breaches of the laws
of the society; to regulate the distribution of the funds
of the society among the members of the society and
their families when sickness and misfortune may have
rendered proper objects of charity within the views and
objects of the society; to make rules and regulations for
the admission and expulsion of members, whose miscon-
duct may have rendered them unworthy to remain mem-
bers of the society, and to make such other regulations,
rules and by-laws, as shall be expedient and necessary
to accomplish the objects of the society, and are not
repugnant to the laws of Maryland.

Form a consti-
tution and pass

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be so construed as to authorise or empower
said corporation to issue any note, certificate, token or
evidence of debt to be used as currency; and the light
is hereby expressly reserved to the General Assembly
of Maryland, at its pleasure, to .alter, amend or annul this
act of incorporation.

CHAPTER 224.

A supplement to an. act passed December session, eighteen
hundred and forty, entitled, an act to provide more effec-
tually for the destruction of Wolves, Panthers and
Foxes, in Allegany County,

8, 1847.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That so much of the act passed Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and forty, chapter fifty-six,
that requires parlies to prove a scalp or scalps before a
justice of the peace in Allegany county, within six days
after the killing of the same be, and the same is hereby

repealed.

Released.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That no justice of the peace
in Allegany county, shall issue a certificate for a scalp or
scalps to non-residents of the State.
