1846.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Gassaway
Knighton, in every instance, before he shall proceed to
the aforesaid collection, make affiadavit before some jus-
tice of the peace for Anne Arundel county, that the taxes
remain due and unpaid, and that he has not received any
security or satisfaction for the same, or any part thereof,
more than the credits which may be allowed thereon.

CHAP. 23.

Make affidavit

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue
in force one year from the time of its passage, and no
longer.

CHAPTER 22.
An act for the relief of John W. Shanklin and Joseph

In force one

year.

Walker, of Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for John W.
Shanklin and Joseph Walker, former collectors of tax of
said county, to proceed in the collection of all arrearages of
tax, according to the existing tax collecting laws of said
county, and in as full and ample a manner as if said tax-
es had been collected in the respective years as they be-
came due, and they shall have the same power as if they
had collected the tax within the year, any law to the
contrary notwithstanding.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Shanklin

affidavit before some justice of the peace of said county,
that the same remains unpaid, and that they hath not re-
ceived any security or satisfaction for the same, or any

force for two years after its passage, and no longer.

Talbot County, further time to complete his collections.

That the time allowed by law to Morris O. Colston, col-
lector for Talbot county, for the year eighteen and forty-
