CHAPTER 160.
An act to allow Washington Finley, late Collector of
Queen Anne's County, further time to complete Ms
collections.
|
|
|
Time allowed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the time allowed to Washington Finley, collector
of the State tax for eighteen hundred and forty-one,
and of the county tax for the year eighteen hundred and
forty-two, for Queen Anne's county, by an act passed at
the December session, eighteen hundred and forty-four,
chapter forty-eight be, and the same is hereby further
extended to the first day of June, in the year eighteen
hundred and forty-eight, and no longer; and that the

Authorised to
collect.
|
said Washington Finley be, and he is hereby authorised
and empowered to collect any and all taxes, or balances
of taxes, that may be due him and unpaid as collector
as aforesaid, in the same manner and with the same pri-
vileges and powers as provided for by the aforesaid act
of December session, eighteen hundred and forty-four,
chapter forty- eight.

An act to authorise the laying out of a Road through a part
of Frederick and Montgomery Counties.
|
|
|
Appoint three
commissioners.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Frederick county and
the commissioners for Montgomery county, if in their
opinion it be expedient and promotive of the public con-
venience, are hereby authorised and empowered to ap-
point three commissioners; the levy court of Frederick
county to appoint two, and the commissioners for Mont-
gomery county to appoint one of the said three commis-
sioners, to have or cause to be surveyed and opened a

road, commencing at or near the thirty-fifth mile stone,
on the Baltimore and Frederick turnpike road, from
thence on the straightest and best ground to George
Well's mill, from thence on the straightest and best
ground to the Old Quaker road, at or near Kemptown,
and then by and with said Quaker road, to or near the
intersection of the Kemptown, and from thence on the
