1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the road made at the expense of Na-
thaniel McGregor, as described in the preamble to this
act, and which is now used as a public road, be and the
same is hereby substituted in lieu of the road located by
the commissioners appointed by virtue of the act passed
at December session eighteen hundred and forty-two,
chapter sixteen, and it is hereby declared to be a public
road, and shall be kept in repair at the expense of the
county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts inconsistent with this act, be and the same are here-
by repealed.

An act to authorise the erection of an additional Tobacco
Warehouse in the city of Baltimore.

12, 1846.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly
that the great increase in the receipts of tobacco from
the west, render an additional warehouse indispensable,
therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Governor be and he is hereby au-
thorised to purchase a lot of ground in the city of Bal-
timore, and to contract, on the most favorable terms, for
the erection of a fire proof tobacco warehouse thereon,
capable of containing six thousand hogsheads, to be lo-
cated in the city of Baltimore.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the commissioner of
loans be, and he is hereby authorised and directed, to ne-
gotiate a loan upon the credit of the State, for such sum
or sums of money as the Governor shall certify to him is
necessary to carry the first section of this law into opera-
tion, and for that purpose shall issue slock of the State
bearing interest of six per centum per annum, the pro-
ceeds thereof to be paid into the treasury of the State
the principal and interest payable out of the tobacco in-
spection fund, the principal redeemable at the pleasure
of the State, the interest to be paid semi-annually.

the sum to be provided as prescribed by the second sec-
tion of this act, be and he is hereby authorised to pay
