CHAPTER 95.
An act extending the time for completing the Turnpike
Road from Boonsboro' in Washington County, to Swear-
ingen's Ferry, on the Potomac River.

Time extend-
ed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the time lor completing the turnpike
road from Boonsboro' to Swearingin's Ferry, on the Po-
tomac river, in Washington county, be and the same is
hereby extended to the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
one, and to the end of the next session of the legislature
thereafter.

Authorised to
receive toll.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the president, direc-
tors and company of the said road, be and they are here-
by authorised to receive toll upon the whole of the said
road which is now completed and in public use, at a rate
not higher than is authorised by the original act of incor-

Proviso.
|
poration; provided, that the said road is kept by the said
company in good condition and repair, according to the
requirements of the charter incorporating the. said com-
pany.

An act entitled an act to change the location of a Road in
Prince George's County.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, by the act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and forty-two, chapter sixteen, com-
missioners were appointed with power and authority to
survey, lay off and locate a road leading from Bladensburg
through the lands of Thomas Burch and ethers, and
thence extending to the line of Montgomery county; and
whereas, the aforesaid commissioners did lay down said
road as directed and required by the provisions of said act,
and it having been represented to this General Assembly,
by the petition of sundry citizens of Prince George's
county, that said road is liable to be overflowed and ren-
dered impassable from this and other causes, thereby sub-
jecting the travelling community to serious inconvenience
and delay, and that a road has been made by a certain
Nathaniel McGregor at his own expense, and which is
now used as a public road, therefore
