CHAP. 72.

Pay over to

Treasurer.

and of Howard District, to account with, upon oath, and
pay over to the treasurer on the first Mondays of June
and November in each and every year, or within thirty
days thereafter, all suras of money received by them re-
spectively under the provisions of the several acts of De-
cember session eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter
one hundred and eighty-four, chapter one hundred and
eighty-seven and chapter two hundred and thirty-seven,

for which they shall be allowed a commission of five per
centum upon the amount so paid over; and in case any
of the said clerks or Registers shall fail to ac-
count and pay as aforesaid, within the period aforesaid,
the same proceedings, recovery and consequences shall
ensue as are provided in the preceding section in refer-
ence to the clerks therein mentioned.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the clerks of the several county courts and of Howard
District, the city court of Baltimore, and of the commis-
sioner of loans, on the first Monday of June and No-
vember in each and every year, or within thirty days
thereafter, to account with upon oath and pay over to the
treasurer all sums of money received by them respective-
ly, under the provisions of the act passed at December
session eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hun-
dred and eighty, the said clerks being entitled to deduct
therefrom a commission of five per centum; and in case
of failure, in addition to the proceedings, recovery,
and consequences which are prescribed by the act last
referred to, the said clerks shall forfeit the, commission
hereby allowed them.

A supplement to an act entitled an act to abolish the Levy
Court of Charles County, and to provide for the elec-
tion of Commissioners for said County.

missioners to
consist of five.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first Wednesday in
October next, the board of commissioners for Charles
county shall consist of five persons, which said five per-
sons shall be elected commissioners aforesaid, according
to the provisions and in the manner laid down and direct
ed by the act to which this is a supplement.
