CHAP. 61.

the period of the passage of this law; provided, however,
that the tax due the said State for his certificate of quali-
fication shall have been first paid to the clerk of said
county.

CHAPTER 60.

An act to make valid a deed executed by Adam Snively
and Catharine Snively, to Samuel Deaner, Jacob A,
Thomas, Simon Wyand, Frederick Baker and Martin
Line, Trustees of the Church of the United Brethren in
Christ.

Made valid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a deed of conveyance, or instrument of
writing, made and executed on the sixteenth day of April,
eighteen hundred and forty-five, by Adam Snively and
Catharine Snively, to Samuel Deaner, Jacob A. Thomas,
Simon Wyand, Frederick Baker and Martin Line, trus-
tees of the church of the United Brethren in Christ, be
and the same is hereby declared as valid and effectual to
all intents and purposes, as if said trustees had been regu-
larly and legally incorporated at the time of the execution
of the said deed, or instrument of writing.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said trustees above
named be, and they are hereby empowered to convey by
deed said real estate to their successors, to be hereafter
appointed, and that said conveyance so made shall be
valid and effectual in law.

Preamble.

An act for the relief of James H. Warthan and others.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, on the petition of Kerney Adkins, and of
James H. Warthan, Andrew J. Warthan, John F. War-
than, Belinda Warthan, Ann E. Warthan, and William
H. Warthan, representatives and heirs at law of John
Francis Warthan, deceased, that certain real estate was
devised by the said deceased to the mother of the said
parties, during the terra of her natural life, for the sup-
