Resolution requesting the Governor to cause the Flag to
be hoisted on the twenty-second of February, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-six, &c.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor be requested to cause the flag to be hoisted
on the dome of the State House, and a National salute
to be fired on Monday next, in commemoration of the
birth of the illustrious Washington, and annually here-
after, whenever the twenty-second day of February shall
fall on Sunday, then the flag shall be hoisted and the sa-
lute fired on the next day.

Preamble and Resolution in favor of William Hamilton,
to allow him a credit for Coupons destroyed by fire.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to the General
Assembly of Maryland, that a certain William Hamilton,
of Charles county, had consumed in his dwelling house
which was destroyed by fire, coupons of interest amount-
ing to the sum of forty-eight dollars — therefore,
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the collector of the State tax for Charles county, is
hereby required to give a receipt for the amount of cou-
pons thus destroyed by fire, to the said William Hamil-
ton, as for so much State tax by him paid; and the Trea-
surer of the State is required to credit the said collector
in his returns for the amount of coupons thus receipted
for by him.
