RESOLUTIONS. 1845

|
|
Resolved, That the Governor of this State be, and is
hereby authorised to draw out of the unappropriated mo-
ney in the Treasury, such suras of money as may be re-
quired for the payment of the commissioner appointed on
the part of this State, and for the costs and charges in-
cident to the carrying out the provisions of the foregoing
resolutions; and the commissioner's compensation and
those employed under him, shall be such reasonable
amount as the Governor shall in his discretion allow.

Resolution directing the Adjutant General to furnish the
Penitentiary with Arms.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Adjutant General of this State be, and he is hereby
authorised and required to furnish to the directors of the
Maryland Penitentiary for the use of said institution,
forty new muskets and forty pistols; provided, they are
in the aforesaid armory, and that the directors on the re-
ceipt of the arms herein mentioned, shall return to the
Adjutant General, the guns and pistols now in the use of
said institution.

Resolution in favor of Caleb Stabler.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorised and direct-
ed to pay to Caleb Stabler, of Montgomery county, the
sum of fifteen dollars and fifty cents, it being the amount
paid by the said Caleb Stabler for the direct tax, for the
year eighteen hundred and forty-four, on certain property,
which property had passed from the hands and possession
of the said Caleb Stabler before the said tax accrued.
