CHAPTER 320.

An act for the preservation of the Bridge over Back Creek,
at Chesapeake City in Cecil County.

CHAP. 321.

Passed Mar.
6, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be -it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person or
persons to drive any wagon, cart, carriage or other ve-
hicle, or to ride or drive any horse or any other large an-
niroal across the bridge over Back creek at Chesapeake
City in Cecil county, taster than in a walk, or in any other
manner to injure or damage the said bridge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful
for any person or persons, to make fast or attach any sail
vessel, canal boat, steam boat or any other boat to the
said bridge over Back creek in Cecil county, by any rope
or line, or in any other way.

fast any vessel.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any person or per-
sons who shall in any manner injure or damage the said
bridge over Back creek, or who shall offend against the
provisions of this act, shall be subject to a fine of not less
than one or more than twenty dollars, and shall also be
liable for the amount of damage done to the said bridge;
the said fine and amount of damages to be recovered on
warrant in the name of the State of Maryland, before any
justice of the peace in Cecil county; and after defraying
the costs of such proceedings, the balance to be paid over
by the officer who collects the said fine and damages after
deducting five per cent, to the commissioners of Cecil
county, to be applied by them to the repairs of the said
bridge.

CHAPTER 321.

eighteen hundred and forty, chapter two hundred and
fifteen, and the several supplements thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners appointed by an act
of Assembly, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and forty, chapter two hundred and fifteen, shall
annually hereafter make a full and fair statement on oath,
to be filed with the clerk of Worcester county court, of
