which they are authorised to lease that portion of the
ground bequeathed to them by George Warner, the elder,
lying in the city of Baltimore, between Welcome Alley
and George Piestman's line, in trust for Mrs. Dorothea
Miltenberger, during her natural life, to her sole and
separate use, and after her death, in trust for the children
of the said Dorothea, as set forth in said will; and in the
event of the said Dorothea dying without children, then
such further uses as are declared in said will; now there-
fore,

CHAP. 312.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Michael Warner, William Krebs and George War-
ner, the trustees aforesaid, and the survivors and surviv-
or of them, be and they are hereby authorised and em-
powered to lease for ninety-nine years, renewable forev-
er, that portion of said property so devised to them in
trust as aforesaid, which lies between Welcome Alley
and George Prestman's line, referred to in said will, at
and for such annual ground rents as they may deem fair
and reasonable for the same; said rents to be reserved
and made payable as directed by the will of said George
Warner, the elder.

An act to authorise the voters in School District Number
One, in the Second Election District of Caroline Coun-
ty, to hold an election for purposes therein mentioned.
|

WHEREAS, great dissatisfaction exists among the in-
habitants of school district number one, in the second
election district of Caroline county in regard to the sys-
tem of taxation for the support of their school — therefore,
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the citizens in school district number
one, in the second election district, of Caroline county,
qualified to vote at the State election for delegates to the
General Assembly, shall, on the first Saturday in June
next, meet at the school house in said school district
number one, and then and there vote by ballot, on which
shall be written or printed, "for the school tax, " or
"against the school tax, " and if after the election shall
have been closed, and on the ballots being counted, it
shall appear that a majority of the tickets polled shall
