CHAP. 238.

4, 1846.

CHAPTER 236.

An act to increase the allowance to the Sheriff of Allega-
ny County, for keeping of Prisoners and supporting
them in jail.

Sheriff to re-
ceive 25 cents
per day for
each prisoner.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may be lawful for the sheriff of Allega-
ny county to ask, demand and receive for all persons
committed to the jail of said county, the sum of twenty-
five cents per day for each prisoner, to be levied and re-
ceived according to law, in lieu of the sum now allowed.

CHAPTER 237.

Passed Mar.
4, 1846.

An act to authorise the Commissioners of Cecil County to
levy the further sum of one hundred and fifty dollars,
to complete a Bridge over Back Creek.

To levy $150.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That at the next annual levy, it shall be lawful for the
commissioners, in their discretion, to levy the sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars for the completion of the bridge
over Back creek, at Chesapeake City, in said county, to
be applied by them in such manner and to such purposes,
as in their judgment shall be right and proper.

CHAPTER 238.

Passed Mar.
4, 1846.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to provide for the
division of the city of Baltimore into twenty Wards,
and for other purposes, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-four, chapter two hundred
and eighty-two.

Repealed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the third section of the act of December
session, eighteen hundred and forty-four, entitled an act
to provide for the division of the city of Baltimore into
twenty wards and for other purposes, as requires the an-
nual election of the members of the second branch of the
city council of Baltimore, be and the same is hereby re-
