this act shall not extend to such cases; and provided also,
that the powers conferred by this act, shall not continue
in force longer than the first day of March, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-seven.

CHAPTER 232.

mation.

Proviso.

An act to reduce the Salaries of the Governor and Secre-

tary of State of the State of Maryland.

Passed Mar.

4, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, the salary of
the Governor of this State, shall be two thousand dollars
per year.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That from and after the
first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and

forty-seven, the salary of the Secretary of State of this
State, shall be one thousand dollars per year.

Secretary's sal-
ary reduced.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Governor and
Secretary of State, shall be entitled to receive the sala-
ries as above mentioned, the same to be in full for all
services that the law does now or hereafter may require
said officers to perform.

CHAPTER 233.

Receive sala-

ries.

An act to survey and ascertain the location of certain
Roads and Landing in Harford County.

4, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Laurin Norris, Daniel M. Cun-
ningham, John C. Walch, Chaney Hoskins and Noble
Cannon, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners,
and they or a majority of them are hereby authorised and
empowered to survey and locate the public road, passing
up the river Susquehanna from Bell's Ferry to Deer

Cominission-
