CHAP. 231.

CHAPTER 230.

An act to authorise the Trustees of School District Num-
ber Two, in Election District Number One, of Talbot
County, to levy a tax for the payment of rent due for
School Houses in said District.

Authorised to
levy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the trustees of school district number
two, in election district number one of Talbot county, be
and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to levy
and assess upon the taxable inhabitants of said district, a
sum of money sufficient to pay the rent now due and in
arrear, for rent of school houses for the use of the prim-
ary schools of said school district, and to pay the ex-
pense of collecting the same.

Appoint a col-
lector.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the trustees of said
school district be, and they are hereby authorised, em-
powered and required, to appoint a collector for the col-
lection of such sum as shall be necessary to be levied
under the first section of this act; and to allow said col-
lector, such sum not exceeding fifteen per cent, as they
may deem proper; and to allow also to the clerk of pri-
mary schools in said district, such sum not exceeding
twenty dollars, as they may deem fit, for making out the

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the collector to be ap-
pointed under this act, be and he is hereby invested with
all powers for the collection of said tax, now conferred
upon the collectors of county taxes in Talbot county.

An act to allow Samuel C. Veirs, trustee of William

O'Neale, Jr. late Sheriff and Collector of Montgomery
County, further time to complete his collections.

Empowered to
collect.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, Samuel C.
Veirs, trustee of William O'Neale, jr. late sheriff and col-
lector of Montgomery county, or any subsequent trustee
that may be appointed be, and he is hereby empowered
to collect all fees, taxes and levies, in the same manner
in which the said William O'Neale, jr. was authorised to
