CHAP. 220.

Receive $200.

In case of re-
fusal or neglect.

the Treasury as other State taxes are collected and paid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said register,
for the performance of the duties imposed upon him by
this act, shall be entitled to receive out of the Treasury
the sum of two hundred dollars; and in case of the re-
fusal or neglect of the said register to perform the du-
ties by this act required of him, he shall forfeit and pay
the sum of five hundred dollars, to be recovered by in-
dictment in Baltimore city court, or by action of debt in
Baltimore county court, brought in the name of the State
of Maryland, by the Attorney General, upon the requisi-
tion of the Treasurer.

CHAPTER 219.

Passed Mar.
3, 1846.

An act supplemental to an act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-two, chapter two hundred
and sixty-five.

Altered and
amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the third section of the act of Assem-
bly, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
forty-two, chapter two hundred and sixty-five, be and the
same is hereby altered and amended, by the substitution
of the words, one-ninth in lieu of the words one-tenth,
after the words second district; by which said alteration
and amendment, the second district will be entitled to
one-ninth of the distribution of the school fund in Cecil
county, instead of one-tenth of the same, as at present
under the third section of the said act.

CHAPTER 220.

Passed Mar.
2, 1846.

An Act authorising and directing the Clerks of the several
County Courts to make sale of Such acts of Assembly,
and oilier documentary volumes as may remain in their
offices after a certain period.

Lawful to sell
copies of laws,
&c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of January
next, and in each successive year thereafter, it shall and
may be lawful for the clerks of the several counties of
