that may be found at any time in the public roads, be-
tween the said town and Whaland's mill, and between
the said town and James Boone's, formerly Samuel Tho-
mas' gate, to be removed in as full and ample manner as
they can or may within the corporate limits of the said

town; provided, that such authority shall not prevent the
grand jury from making presentments or indictments, as
they may now do in relation to the same.

An act to authorise and empower John C. Bryan, of
Queen Anne's County, to complete the collections of
Thomas W. DeCoursey, deceased, late collector of said
county, and to give him further time so to do.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Thomas W. DeCoursey, late collector of
county taxes of Queen Anne's county, departed this life,
not having completed his collections; and whereas, the
sureties upon the bonds of the said Thomas W. De-
Coursey, as collector as aforesaid, as also the adminis-
trator of the said intestate, are willing and desirous that
the said John C. Bryan should be appointed and empow-
ered to complete said collections — therefore,

Authorised to
collect.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John C, Bryan, of Queen Anne's
county, be and he is hereby authorised and empowered
to collect any and all taxes, or balances of taxes, due the
late Thomas W. DeCoursey, and now remaining uncol-
lecled for the several years in which the said Thomas
W. DeCoursey, deceased, was collector of the taxes in
the said county, in the same manner, and with the same
privileges and powers as the said Thomas W. DeCoursey
could or might have done within the time limited by
law.

vit.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said John C. Bry-
an, before he proceeds to collect under and by virtue of
this act, shall make out and deliver to the person or per-
sons from whom any taxes or balances of taxes may be
demanded, an account of the taxes or balances due
from such person or persons, and if required, by the par-
ty, annexed thereto an affidavit that the same is due and
unpaid, as appears by the books of the said Thomas W.
DeCoursey.
