CHAP. 207.

Demand state-
ment of the
amount of pro-
perty.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful at any time for the General Assembly, to demand
a statement of the amount of properly real and personal
belonging to the said corporation, and of the debts due
to and from the said corporation, and the purposes for
which disbursements shall have been made, and shall also
have the right to authorise one or more persons to in-
spect such general accounts in the books of the corpora-
tion, as shall relate to such statement.

Issues forbid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this corporation shall
not be permitted to issue any note, token, device, scrip
or evidence of debt to be used as a currency.

Enure for 30
years.

Right reserv-
ed.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall enure
for thirty years, and that the legislature reserves to itself
the right to change, alter or annul this act of incorpora-
tion at pleasure.

CHAPTER 207.

Passed Mar.
2, 1846.

An act to compel the Commissioners appointed by the act
of eighteen hundred and thirty-three, chapter one hun-
dred and fifty-six, to account to the Levy Court of
Prince George's County.

Commission-
ers to account
under oath.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Prince George's
county be, and they are hereby authorised, directed and
empowered to require the commissioners appointed by
virtue of the act of eighteen hundred and thirty-three,
chapter one hundred and fifty-six, to account to them un-
der oath, for any money they may have received in pur-
suance of said act, and to pay over to said court, any
money unexpended by them whenever said court shall
require them to do so.

Refuse to ac-
count under
oath.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if said commissioners
refuse to account under oath to said court, whenever
said court shall require them to do so, for any money
which they may have received, in pursuance of said act,
and to pay over to said court any unexpended money,
whenever the aforesaid court shall demand it, and if it
should appear to the satisfaction of the said court, that
said commissioners have appropriated to other purposes
than those contemplated by the above mentioned act, any
money which they may have received by virtue of said
