CHAPTER 187.

An act for the relief of Elizabeth Lindsey of Harford
County.

CHAP. 188.

Passed Feb.
26, 1846.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Harford County, be and they
are hereby authorised and required at their next annual
levy, to levy on the assessable property of said county,
and every year thereafter, until further directed, the sum
of forty dollars for the relief of Elizabeth Lindsey, of
said county, payable to Nancy Lindsey, Harry Stokes or
such other person as said county commissioners may
deem proper.

An act for the incorporation of William Tell Lodge,
Number Four of the Independent Order of Odd Fel-
lows, in the City of Baltimore.

Passed Feb.
25, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Archer Ropes, Thomas Wildey, John
Fossett, Conrad Guenther, Christian Ohrenschall, George
Volkinar, William Zirkel, P. Cornfield and other officers
and members of William Tell Lodge, Number Four, of
the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, attached to the
Grand Lodge of Maryland and their successors, he and
they are hereby incorporated and made a body corporate
and politic, by the name and number of William Tell
Lode, Number Four of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows of the State of Maryland; and by that name
may sue and be sued, and have a common seal, and the
same at their pleasure alter, and be entitled to use the
powers and privileges incident to such corporation.

Incorporated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation
shall be capable of taking and holding real and personal
estate, not exceeding in value the sum of twenty thou-
sand dollars for the benevolent relief of the sick and dis-
tressed, the education of the orphans of its members and
for the promotion of those purposes generally.

May hold real
estate.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation
shall and may at all times hereafter, be capable in law to
have, receive and retain to its members and their succes-
