CHAP. 186.

before any one of said collectors shall coerce the pay-
ment of any tax as aforesaid, he shall make oath before
some justice of the peace for said county, that such tax,
or the arrears thereof, remain due, and that he hath not
received any part thereof, nor any security or satisfaction
for the same more than the credits given, to the best of
his knowledge.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from its passage until the first day of May, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-eight.

An act supplemental to an act of the present session of the
General Assembly changing the mode of electing the
Commissioners for Washington County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That, the Commissioners Board of Washing-
ton county, to be hereafter elected, shall select three dis-
creet men to act as examiners of public roads, to he laid
out in said county; and that said examiners shall exer-
cise all the powers now exercised by the present board
of commissioners when acting as examiners, and report
and publish the proceedings in the same manner.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent
with the provisions of this act, be and the same are here-
by repealed.

An act to authorise the Commissioners of Allegany Coun-
ty to levy a certain sum therein mentioned.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Commissioners of Allegany county be authori-
sed, if they think it expedient, to levy the sum of fire
hundred dollars to build a bridge over the Big Yougha-
gany river, on the State road leading from Westernport,
in Maryland, to Kingwood, in Virginia
|
