and devise, and by the said names of Thomas Marsh
Forman and Florida Bryan Forman, to sue or to be sued
in any court of law or equity.

CHAP. 22.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promi-
ses, contracts, assurances, deeds, devises, grants, demi-
ses, bequest, and all other lawful acts whatever to be
made or done either to or by the said Thomas Marsh
Forman Bryan, and Florida Bryan his wife, by the
names of Thomas Marsh Forman and Florida Bryan
Forman, shall be of the same force and effect, and equal-
ly valid to all intents and purposes whatsoever, as if the
names of Thomas Marsh Forman and Florida Bryan
Forman, had been their first and original names.

CHAPTER 22.

Acts made va-
lid.

An act for the benefit of Edward Thompson and Gassaway
Knighton, collectors of taxes for the city of Annapolis.

Passed Jan.
14, 1846.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Edward Thompson collector of taxes
for the city of Annapolis for the year eighteen hundred
and forty-four, and Gasssway Knighton collector of
taxes for the city of Annapolis for the year eighteen
hundred and forty-five, be and they are hereby authoriz-
ed and empowered to collect any taxes or balance of
taxes now remaining due to, and uncollected by them,
in the said city, in the same manner, and with the same
powers and privileges as are allowed by the existing,
laws in such cases made and provided.

Authorised to
collect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Edward
Thompson and Gassaway Knighton, shall in every in-
stance before they shall proceed to the aforesaid collec-
tion, make affidavit before some justice of the peace of
said county, or before the Mayor, Recorder, or one of
the Aldermen of said city, that the taxes remain due and
unpaid, and that they have not received any security or
satisfaction for the same, or any part thereof, more than
what credits may be allowed thereon.

Make affidavit.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
continue in force longer than one year from the passage
thereof.
