with the provisions of the said law, and that the said

trustees and their successors in office, be and they are
hereby authorised to act and to proceed under the pro-
visions of the said law, as fully as if the said law had
been regularly and legally adopted by the male taxable
inhabitants of the said district.

CHAP. 163.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the trustees of said
school and their successors in office, be and they are

hereby authorised to admit and receive into said school,

to be educated, indigent children; as also other children
being out of the district, but being convenient and near
to the school house, to be admitted and paid for at the
discretion of the trustees aforesaid.

An act to provide for the Inspection of Lumber at Perry-
ville, in Cecil County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the Governor shall, with the advice and consent of the
Senate, appoint annually one measurer and inspector of
lumber for the town of Perryville, in Cecil county; said
inspector not to appoint more than four deputies.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said measurer and in-
spector, and also his deputies, before they enter upon the
execution of their offices shall take each and subscribe
the following oath or affirmation as the case may be, be-
fore some justice of the peace of Cecil county, who shall
register the same in his docket: I do solemnly swear or
affirm, that I will faithfully, truly and impartially, accord-
ing to the best of my skill and understanding, execute,
do and perform the office and duty of measurer and in-
spector of lumber, without favor, affection, partiality or
prejudice, according to the true intent and meaning of the
laws of this State, relative to the same, so help me God.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the said measurer
and inspector shall measure and inspect all lumber arri-
ving at Perryville, intended for consumption in Cecil
county, not previously inspected in said county, nor man-
ufactured therein; if any lumber shall arrive at Perry-
ville, intended for exportation or reshipment, the said in-
spector shall, at the request of the owner thereof, mea-
