CHAPTER 100.

An act authorising the Commissioners of Cecil County,
to levy a sum of money for building a Bridge over Big

Elk Creek, at Gilpin's Ford, in said County.

Authorised to
levy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Cecil county be,
and are hereby authorised and empowered in their dis-
cretion, at their next annual levy, to levy on the assessa-
ble property of Cecil county, a sum of money sufficient
for the building a bridge over Big Elk creek at or near
Gilpin's Ford in said county.

Fail to levy-
levy at any fu-
ture time.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said commis-
sioners shall fail, at their next annual levy, to levy said
sum of money or any part thereof, they are hereby au-
thorised and empowered, at any future annual levy, to
levy whatever amount may be requisite and necessary,
in their opinion, for building said bridge.

CHAPTER 107.

10, 1846.

An act to authorise William Townsend and others of Tal-
bot County, to hold certain real estate in said county,
as a Parsonage, for the use and benefit of the Methodist
Episcopal Church in Talbot Circuit, and for other
purposes.

Stewards of
M. E. Church
to hold lot or
lots of ground.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William Townsend, Joseph Bruff, Fos-
ter Maynard, Thomas Auld, John Harper, and Spedden
Orem, Jr. Stewards in the Methodist Episcopal Church,
in and for Talbot Circuit in Talbot county, and their
successors forever, duly appointed, or to be appointed
in conformity with the discipline of said church in the
circuit aforesaid, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to hold a lot or lots, or parcel of ground
with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, situate and
being in the town of St. Michaels, in said county and cir-
cuit aforesaid, to be held in trust for the use and benefit
of said church, in said circuit as a parsonage, which
said lot or lots, or parcel of ground with the appurten-
ances were purchased by the Stewards of the Methodist

Episcopal Church in said circuit and county, of Alexan-
