CHAPTER 125.

CHAP. 136.

An act authorising the Confirmation of a certain sale there-
in mentioned.

Passed Feb.
26, 1845.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
that Doctor Levin W. Ballard, late of Somerset county,
did by his last will and testament, dated November the
thirteenth, eighteen hundred and forty-three, direct certain
real estate to be sold by his executor; AND WHEREAS, said
executor by virtue of said will, did sell the same to a cer-
tain Henry A. White, for the sum of three thousand fire
hundred and thirty-five dollars, including the wheat crop
growing on said land, with interest on the purchase money
due from the first day of February, eighteen hundred and
forty-four, and in order to obviate all doubts as to the reg-
ularity of said sale—Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Orphan's court of Somerset county, immediate-
ly after the passage of this act, are hereby empowered
and directed to ratify and confirm, finally, the sales of said
land, including the wheat crop, if they shall believe the
same to be bona fide in every respect, which said final rat-
ification, shall be of the same avail to all intents and pur-
poses, as if the act of Assembly of December session, eigh-
teen hundred and thirty one, chapter three hundred and fif-
teen, had been literally and fully complied with.

CHAPTER 126.

 

An act authorising the Methodist Episcopal Church in the
City and Precincts of Baltimore, to hold certain lands
at a Burial Ground.

Passed Feb.
26, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Methodist Episcopal Church in the city and pre-
cincts of Baltimore, be, and it is hereby authorised to hold
in fee simple or any less estate, any quantity of land not
exceeding fifty acres, to be occupied by the said church
as a burial ground, and for no other purpose; and all acts
and parts of acts, inconsistent with this act, be, and the
same are hereby repealed.
