hundred and thirty-eight, be and they are hereby autho-
rised and empowered to collect any and all taxes now re-
maining due and uncollected by said Mayberry in the
county aforesaid, in the same manner and with the same
privileges and powers, as are allowed by the existing laws
in such cases made and provided.

CHAP. 293.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
continue in force longer than two years from the first day
of July next.

CHAPTER 291.

 

A supplement to an act entitled, aw act for the Inspection
of Sole Leather, Rough Harness and Rough Skirting
Leather in the City of Baltimore.

10, 1845.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be the duty of the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Senate, immedi-
ately upon the passage of this act, to appoint two addi-
tional inspectors of leather for the city of Baltimore; and
annually hereafter to appoint five instead of three inspec-
tors of leather for the said city, whose qualifications, du-
ties and responsibilities shall be the same, as those pre-
scribed in the original act, to which this is a supplement

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the fees arising from
the inspection of leather in the city of Baltimore, shall be
considered and made a common fund to be equally divi-
ded among all the inspectors.

CHAPTER 292.

 

An additional supplement to the act, entitled an act for the
preservation and repair of that part of the United States
Road within the limits of Maryland.

10, 1845.

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in lieu of the appointment of a superin-
tendent of that part of the United States road lying with-
in the limits of this State, as has been heretofore done in
pursuance of the act to which this is a supplement, the
Governor shall by and with the advice and consent of the
