CHAPTER 289.

A supplement to an act entitled an act to extend the Char-
ters of the several Banks of the City of Baltimore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General As-
sembly, that some doubt is entertained of the true intent
and meaning of the act of December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-four, chapter two hundred and seven-
ty-four, being an act to extend the charters of several
banks in the city of Baltimore, as in the said act the Pre-
sident and Directors of the Marine Bank of Baltimore, have
their charter extended to the year eighteen hundred and
fifty-six, under the name and style of the Marine Bank—

Therefore,
Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the true intent and meaning of said act,
was to extend the charter of the said President and Direc-
tors of the Marine Bank of Baltimore, which was then,
and is now declared to be, so extended according to the

Repealed.

provisions contained in said act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the acceptance of the
said President and Directors of the Marine Bank of Balti-
more, filed by them with the Governor and Council, in
the month of June, eighteen hundred and thirty-five, shall
be deemed a full compliance with the act aforesaid, as
well as with this act, which is a supplement to the former.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the President and Di-
rectors of the Marine Bank of Baltimore shall be privileg-
ed to hold their annual election for directors at the same
time as provided for in their original charter of incorpo-
ration, and to declare and pay their semi-annual dividends
at the time and in the manner therein provided for.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all laws now subsist-
ing, contrary to the provisions of this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

An act for the relief of the securities of Israel Mayberry,
late Collector of Taxes of Allegany County.

Authorised to
collect.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John J. Hoffman, and the executors of
Andrew Bruce, deceased, securities of Israel Mayberry,
late collector of Allegany county, for the year eighteen
