CHAP. 30.
Superinten-
dant to divide
road into sec-
tions.
Proviso,
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall hereafter be the
duty of the said superintendent to divide the road into sec-
tions of not less than one mile, nor more than three, and
after having given three weeks notice in the Cumberland
newspapers for sealed proposals, for the repair and preser-
vation of said road, to let the same in sections as aforesaid
by contract to the lowest bidders; provided, said bidders
shall be able to give security for the performance of their
respective contracts.

|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said superintendent
shall, for a violation of any of the provisions of this act,
forfeit and pay in each case not less than fifty, nor more
than five hundred dollars, to be applied to the use of the
State, recoverable in the name of the State of Maryland,
by action of debt or indictment in the County Court of Al-
legany County.

Repealed.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That so much of the act of
eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter eighty-five, or
of the act to which this is a supplement as contravenes the
provisions of this act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

An act to extend the time of Thomas W. DeCoursey, former
Collector of Queen Ann's County, to complete his Col-
lections.

ded.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the time allowed to Thomas W. De Coursey, former
collector of Queen Anne's county, by an act passed at De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and forty-three, to com-
plete his collections, be and the same is hereby further ex-
tended, until the first day of June, eighteen hundred and
forty-six.

An act to authorise the Burgess and Commissioners of
Taney Town to sell certain property therein mentioned.
|

ers may sell.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Burgess and Commissioners of Taney Town, be
and they are hereby authorised and empowered to sell and
dispose of the Engine, and Engine House, now belonging
to the citizens of said town, in Carroll county; the pro-
ceeds arising from the sale thereof, to be applied to the
use of the corporation.
