An act for the relief of Mary Burke and Elizabeth Burke,
of Cecil County, authorising the County Commissioners
of said county to make an annual levy for their main-

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the county commissioners of Cecil county be, and
they are hereby authorised and empowered to make an
annual levy for the maintenance and support of Mary Burke
and Elizabeth Burke, of a sum of money not exceeding
twenty dollars to each, the said sums of money to be col-
lected as other county assessments, and to be paid over by
the collector in whose hands the levy is placed, to the said
Mary Burke and Elizabeth Burke, or to their respective
orders.

CHAPTER 32.

 

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to establish Primary
Schools in the Upper Election District of Caroline Coun-
ty, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and for-
ty-one, chapter one hundred and eighty-seven.

 

WHEREAS, in the act to which this is a supplement
there is no provision made to fill vacancies in the several

Preamble.

Boards of trustees—Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, when any va-
cancy or vacancies shall occur in any of said primary
schools by resignation, deaths, removals, from said dis-
trict, or other disability to serve as trustee, the remaining
part of said board of trustees, in the several schools of
said districts, shall have full power to fill all such vacan-
cy or vacancies, until their next annual election, which
takes place on the first Tuesday of December in each and
every year, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

Trustees may
fill vacancies.
