CHAPTER 257.

CHAP. 259

An act to continue in force such acts of Assembly as would
expire during the present session.

Passed March
8, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all such acts or parts of acts, as would expire with
the present session of the General Assembly, be and the
same are hereby re-enacted and continued in force to the

last Monday of December next, and to the end of the ses-
sion of the General Assembly next ensuing; provided how-
ever, that this act shall not extend to or embrace any acts
or parts of acts, which may have been or shall be repealed,
or in anywise modified at the present session of the Ge-
neral Assembly.

CHAPTER 258.

 

An act making additional provision for the Crier of
Washington County Court.

Passed March
8, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the crier of Washington county court, shall in ad-
dition to his fees, as are now allowed by law, receive a per
diem allowance of the same amount as the bailiff of Wash-
ington county court; which said per diem shall be allow-
ed for every day the court sits, either for the dispatch of
business of the county, or removed cases from other coun-
ties, civil or criminal, which said allowance shall be levied
and paid in all respects as is the allowance of the bailiff and
other expenses of said court.

CHAPTER 259.

 

An act to enable James Powell, former Sheriff of Worces-
ter County, to make a special return.

Passed March
8, 1845.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That James Powell, formerly a sheriff of Worcester coun-
ty, be and he is hereby authorised and empowered to
make his special return, and file it with the clerk of Wor-
cester county court, in the case of Richard S. Tilghman,
and Julia his wife, vs. George Sampson, number thirty-
