CHAPTER 225.

Passed Feb.
18, 1845.

An act to divide Primary School District, Number Two, of
Anne Arundel County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
that owing to the large number of children in Primary
school district number two, of Anne Arundel county, it is
impossible to give them that due attention which the laws
intended and justice required; and that the public conve-
nience would be much promoted, and the blessings of edu-
cation much better and more generally diffused by a divi-
sion of said school district into two districts—Therefore,

Commission-
ers appointed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Doctor James S. Owens, William Hop-
kins, James Owens, Jr., Robert G. Pindell and Henry C.
Welch, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
for the purpose of dividing said primary school district,
number two, into two districts, and ascertaining and fix-
ing the dividing line of said districts; and the said com-
missioners, shall under their hands and seals, certify their
proceedings, in pursuance of this act, on or before the
first of April next, to the commissioners of primary schools
for Anne Arundel county.

Districts form-
ed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the districts thus form-
ed out of said district number two, shall be respectively
known and numbered as primary school districts, number
two and number forty-nine.

Duty of com-
missioners.

SEC. 3 And be it enacted, That it shall be the duly of
the said commissioners, so to divide the aforesaid primary
school district, as to leave the school house as at present
located within the lower division of said district, which
lower division shall be known and numbered as number

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That district number forty-
nine as directed to be formed in the preceding sections
of this act, shall be placed upon equal footing in all re-
spects with the other primary schools of said county.

 

CHAPTER 226.

21, 1845.

An act to extend to Baltimore County the provisions of an
act, relating to the lien of Mechanics and others upon
buildings.

Extended.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act entitled an act relating to the lien of median-
