CHAP. 223.

Norris, William George Read and Sophia Catharine, his
wife, of the city of Baltimore, and John H. Bernard, of
Virginia, trustee for M'Gay R. Tiernan, proprietors of the
Jots lying on the east side of Charles street, in the city of
Baltimore, between Hamilton and Centre streets, to close
and include within the lines of their respective lots extend-
ed eastwardly, the bed of L alley, as the same was origi-
nally laid out by the commissioners for dividing the estate
of the late Col. John E. Howard; and also, so much of the
bed of M alley, as lies west of a line drawn parallell with
Charles street, at the distance of one hundred and twenty-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That an alley twelve feet
wide, extending from Hamilton to Centre street, parallell
to and one hundred and twenty-eight feet, east from Charles
street, be and the same is hereby condemned and made
public, and subjected to all the laws and ordinances of this

State, and the city of Baltimore, relative to streets, lanes
and alleys, within the said city; provided, that the said
Richard Norris, William George Read, and wife, and
John H. Bernard, shall file or caused to be filed in the
office of the register of the city of Baltimore, a plat of the
said alley accurately describing it by metes and bounds,
by the name of L alley.

CHAPTER 223.

Passed Feb.
10, 1845.

An act to close Richmond Street or Road in the City of
Baltimore, and to open part of Garden Street.

Made lawful.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for John Gib-
son, Edmund Didier, trustee of Maria Didier, John B.
Morris, William A. Moale, Thomas Oliver, for himself,
and as trustee of Margaret, wife of Roswell L. Colt,
and Emily, wife of Robert M. Gibbs, and Henry Tiffany,
the proprietors of the land, fronting on each side of that
portion of the road or street, called Richmond street, ly-
ing northwest of Biddle street in the city of Baltimore,
and to their heirs and assigns, proprietors as aforesaid, to

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the proprietors of the
ground on each side of said road or street, shall be respec-
tively entitled to one half of said road or street, lying in,
front of their several lots or ground.
