CHAPTER 150.

1, 1845.

An act for the benefit of Elizabeth limit, of Talbot County.

Authorised la
levy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Talbot county, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered at their discretion,
to levy on the assessable property of said county, at their
next levy, and annually thereafter, the sum of twenty dol-
lars, for the use and benefit of Elizabeth Hunt, an indi-
gent widow of said county.

CHAPTER 151.

8, 1845.

An act for the relief of Stephen H. Gough, Sheriff of Saint
Mary's County.

Authorised to
levy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Saint Mary's coun-
ty, be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to
levy on the assessable property of said county, such a sum
of money as to them may seem just and proper for the
benefit of Stephen H. Gough, present sheriff of Saint
Mary's county, for expense incurred by him in keeping a
private jail during the period of his sheriffalty, the public
jail of said county being insecure.

CHAPTER 152.

27, 1845.

An act to condemn and lay off a lot of ground for a public
landing, through the lands of Col. William Hughlett,
on Choptank river in Talbot County, and make a public
road therein mentioned.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
by the petition of sundry citizens of Talbot county, that
they suffer great inconvenience For want of a public land-
ing, on Choptank river in said county, and a public road
thereto—Therefore,

Commission-
ers appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Solomon Mulliken, John Boyle, and
Thomas E. Lloyd, be and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners to lay out, survey, mark and bound a piece of
